CRAFT O RAMA and Artisian Botique

This weekend a friend and I attended a Artisian Botique put on at the Crystal kitchen Center, Which was an amazing collection of local artist from the Minneapolis metro area and beyond. One that caught my eye was
MercuryMosiaics.com If your looking for a really cool tile I suggest you check them out. Their colors and designs are amazing!

We also attended the NO COAST CRAFT O RAMA which was a vast array of artisans from Minnesota. We saw everything from homemade soaps to small letterpress shops which featured fun cards and stationary. It was a great source of inspiration and I met some great artist as well!

Horsing Around in Grand Marais MN

A few weeks ago my husband told me he was taking me on a surprise trip. I had a feeling it was going to be up to a place we like to call "home" the north shore of Minnesota.We set out north on Wednesday of last week. We drove up past Duluth to Grand Marais. Which is a beautiful harbor town on the edge of Lake Superior. The colors were just awesome and the hiking trails were awaiting us. But there was one more surprise Justin had in store for me As we pulled into the driveway of the North House Folk School I was so curious as to what this surprise would be. Justin made me wait in the car while he went in and got directions to where my surprise would take place. We then proceeded to drive up the beautiful Gunflint trail We then pulled off of the Gunflint on to someones property and there I saw a sign that said Fjord Crossing. I then new that my surprise involved a Norwegian Fjord Horse. I was so excited! I really had a liking for this breed of horse. There just so cute! The surprise was my own personal driving lesson with a Norwegian Fjord. Here are some photos below of my experience and our trip. A special thanks goes out to Phillis for showing me the ropes of driving! Another special thanks to Justin for the great surprise!

New Orleans Wedding

Here is a wedding monogram and a rehearsal dinner invite I have designed for some friends of ours who are getting married in New Orleans in January.

Memories and legecy...

a few days ago I got word that my grandfather had passed away. Tomorrow we will celebrate his life, and what part of our lives he has touched. We will miss him but never for get him! Above is one of my favorite of his wedding album. Look at that dashing young couple! :)

Weekend Photography

This weekend while on a walk I ran across this sculpture of an angel. It's beautiful detail caught my eye for a prefect subject for a weekend photo.

Less is more

"KISS" other wise know as keeping it simple Stupid.. Was a familiar term used by one of my design instructors while I was beginning my career as a designer. Sometimes it's easy to make a design over cluttered and over worked. This Design highlights many photos but keeps the other elements in the design simple. This has been a favorite among friends when they ask if I would be interested in designing them an announcement for their new born.

Break time...

Last weekend was my 6th trip to the beautiful BWCA. Great Fish and Great Friends... Here are a few or our trip photos. a special thanks to Seagull Outfitters for their great Outfitting! Another thanks to the group for their hard work at the portage and on the water! As for now it is back to designing! Happy Friday to everyone!

The end.. New beginning

It's been a long time since my last post. There should be more post now that I finally have more time to post. Stay tune.. Great things to come. I am currently seeking freelance design work. If interested in working with me drop me a line.

Here are some equine designs that I have created. Horses have always been a big inspiration for me in my art. They carry such a mystique. These and other related equine designs are showcased on my Etsy site.

More spring feelings....
Being a horse owner for a good portion of my life, Spring always brings lots of horse hair. As the days get longer they start shedding their long winter hair and become sleek and shiny. This is not an easy task, As you bursh them you become covered in hair head to toe, but it the end when they look all shiny it is so worth the effort. This is a photo of my girl "Lady". This photo was taken last summer at my sisters farm where Lady resides.
